4th September 2005 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 25-40 knots Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 20ºC Sea Temperature: 16ºC Weather: Mainly sunny Max Speed: 28.9 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 38.5 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Wooohoooo!!! I love this place!!! Got to the beach at about 6.30am and went out on my 57.m and big wave board. Pretty overpowered most of the time but much fun was had in the flat water channels between the sandbanks. Shem, mark and Col joined me on their kites and Impi came out on a new 5.7m sail as well. The wind continued to fill in and after a couple of hours on the water I decided it was time to change down to my 5m. Dave and Sarah came out at the same time. The wind then went completely ballistic, and we all got blown off the water when it reached about 40 knots. It calmed down to a nice steady 30 knots after a while though and we had another go, this time prefectly powered up on my 5m and little wave board with some mad speed runs over the chop.... Just perfect! |
